Recently the departure of a church mate had stunned us all. He was only around 20 years old , A cheery person , that seemed fun to be with. But sadly I never got to know this brother even though he had been in our midst for months. After a conversation with Monica, I found out that she had asked him once if we had ever talked to him (We I mean as in my cell group) and the answer was "No". I felt very guilty that in all the time he was in our midst I never conversed with him. And I felt Ashamed that I didn’t even know who he was. Monica then told us she wanted to introduce him to some people like me and Justin. I felt even more ashamed that I needed a mediator to strike a conversation with a fellow brother. I feel bad because I lost a friendship that I could have had, I lost a spiritual brother that was steadfast in faith, But most of all I feel bad because I wasn’t there in his time of need. One thing he has thought me that life is precious & short. You never know when or how they're going to go. But you just got to treasure life and the friendships you build. I believe Shawn’s passing is significant in a lot of ways and has impacted many people. He was valiant till the very end. Shawn God Bless you....Till we meet again.
(P.S. This is something Jason Wong wrote for Shawn. It came from his heart)

= The Shawn Whom I Did Not Know =
=================================
Shawn? Shawn who? The Shawn who lives at where you said? The Shawn who studies at where you said? The Shawn who has how many siblings you said? The Shawn who laughs like a what you said?
Uhhh....naw...nope...Don't know which Shawn you're talking about
Oh wait, I Know!
You mean the Shawn who worships God when everyone else on his left and right aren't? You mean the Shawn who smiles with his eyes closed and hands lifted towards the heavens when the trainee drummer misses a beat? You mean the Shawn who comes to church and cell group with expectant eyes opened to see the touch of the Holy Spirit? You mean the Shawn who listened to sermons with his heart and not just his mind?
Oh! You mean that Shawn. Yeah, I know that Shawn all right.
He's one of those who helped me lead a better worship in church with his all-out extravagant expression of worship. He's one of those who helped me teach better in Discipleship Program with his attentiveness and agreeability in the Word of God. He's one of the few who remind me that this fast decaying generation still has hope when i see his contented smile in God.
Yeah, I know that Shawn.
With the coupling of his life's motto of "Life Is Beautiful" and his constant prayer cry of his heart, "Jesus! Please don't pass us by. Let this be the revival generation!" and not just some mere selfish ones like "Lord, help me in my studies" or "Lord, bless my future" or "Lord, save my family"..
"LORD JESUS! PLEASE DON'T PASS US BY LORD! DON'T PASS THIS GENERATION BY!!! REVIVE US LORD!! POUR OUT YOUR SPIRIT ON US!! SAVE US!! SAVE MALAYSIA!!
Its is nowonder he was one who was and still is , immovable, steadfast, full of faith, faithful, faceless, fearless and on FIRE FOR HIM.
Its is my prayer that many more 'Shawns' will rise in the departure of one Shawn.
Will you be one of the 'Shawns'?
Will you take up his prayer baton and run with it like he did?
I know I have!
(Shawn You didnt just keep the Fire! You spread the Wildfire! )
Absence diminishes little passions and increases great ones, as wind extinguishes candles and fans a fire.
